Crepes: a quick and easy recipe!

I remember eating crepes very often during my childhood as well for snack as for dinner. Crepes are so delicious! The children will love it for sure. They will also love to help and cook it with you, it’s a great activity to do after school!

What you need

This is a french recipe for 5/6 people*:

  • 21 oz all purpose flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups milk
  • pinch of salt
*if there are leftovers, you can keep it in the fridge for a few days

How to cook it

  1. Beat eggs and milk
  2. Add flour, salt and beat until the mix is smooth
  3. Melt butter in a frying pan and spread it with a paper towel
  4. Add a small ladle of the mix and wait for it to be cooked, it takes some seconds
  5. When it’s hard, turn it over to cook the other side
  6. Et voilà!
  7. Don’t forget to add butter in the pan before each crepe!

A well-cooked crepe is thin and can easily be bended.

How to eat it

You can basically add whatever you want to inside the crepes! The kids love it with ham or salami and cheese. You can either put the ham & cheese in the pan, when cooking the crepe so the cheese melts, or add the ham & cheese when all the crepes are cooked and heat the crepes one by one in the microwave to melt the cheese. Salmon, cream cheese and a bit of lemon juice is really good topping too. I usually eat a salad as a side, and the kids eat cucumbers.

As a snack, you can add fruits, greek yoghurt, peanut butter, melted chocolate chips, sugar & cinnamon, honey… the list is infinite! My perfect – unhealthy – combo is Nutella, banana & whipped cream… a pure treat.

If there are some leftovers, you’ll be able to enjoy it in the morning with some jelly!
